If this turns out to be Plagueis as the big bad in this, it might feel kinda wasted unless there’s a serious uptick in this shows ‘quality’ for lack of a better word.

What if Osha ends up being Mae's master?

Just remember andor felt exactly this amateurish and knock off before it picked up into being awesome and hang in there meth that thought.

Hopefully it’ll hold together and go that way here.

I rewatched the first episode and I liked it a lot more on second viewing. I still have many of the same issues but those felt way less abrasive this time.

And, weird as this may sound, I also wonder if it helped that I was watching on my phone. Is it possible shows now are better on smaller screens sometimes?

I watched pretty much all three seasons of Mando on my phone. If it works it Works.

Now have a big tv and Definitely feels better on them but I see what you mean a small screen might help here in some way.

I'm really hoping that Kelnacca dies in EP 3 and Sol dies in EP 4 so that Mae achieves her goal in the first four episodes and then the story can either flashback and/or open up in the back half.

I've had more than one DP tell me for the last 5 years they've been lighting and composing with phones in mind

Interesting. That's good intel and it makes a ton of sense. I really liked the experience much more on my phone. The sound was better, too. Things also looked much less... fake? amateurish? not sure what the best word is here. Less cheap? I don't know. It looked better.

I’m sure I’ll love it. I haven’t seen a single minute of it yet. Just waiting a bit. Did the same with Andor.

I thought it was much better the second time through. I think that's something that's more true than not with these shows.

i know for a fact that a lot of projects are made with the phone screen in mind, not only light or vfx but these days its all about 9.16 or 1.1 vs 16.9.

I do think that if this thing looks shitty, its because its cheap and badly done. If you see this on a 4k screen and looks like fan made, well Disney fucked up or is spending way less money on trying to look alright.

Ok, ill dive into ep 1 now
