I've got a 10K next Saturday in Queens, so I did a 10K today (last "long" training run before the race), and now my knee is fucking KILLING me. Ugh!

That sucks. You got time to recover though.

Another shitty short run today. I did go immediately after playing golf but not the best reason to suck

Okay, moved back to the homeland and vowed to start running again. Got some new shoes and went on my first run yesterday.

Not much of a run but giving myself some grace as I haven't really ran regularly in 15 years, also i have eaten and drank my way across the US in this whole say goodbye to co/move to minnesota adventure.

But, i did it. 2.5 miles. 8:45 pace :haha:

My lungs felt great but my running muscles are dead.

Baby steps.

I tried to do a slow 3 mile rust-off run to prep for my 10K on Saturday. But after the boat shredded the fuck out of my leg the other day, I was in too much pain. So I stopped at 2 miles. Fingers crossed I'm good to go on Saturday...

Oh, hey, thanks!

Feel like i should be able to run that for a much longer distance but, again, cutting myself some slack.

There's an awesome running store here that got me set up properly with a pair of Brooks that felt like a million bucks under my feet!

Nice! My wife loves her Brooks. She swears by them. And if it's any consolation, I'm a regular runner (like 20-28 miles per week, most weeks) and my race pace is 8:38. So... I think you're golden!

Stormy day here, so hoping for a 45 minute low impact peloton ride, then back out around 1 of our many lakes tomorrow!

Breathe it all in. Absolutely my favorite spot in Colorado. was able to spend a night there before moving.

Definitely go to the Stanley Hotel for a drink! There's a fancy bar and a normal bar. Your choice! It's the hotel where the TV version of the Shining was filmed and the hotel where Stephen King was inspired to write the Shining.

Definitely go into Rocky Mountain National Park! Bear Lake is the most popular destination and it will be crowded but definitely worth it. Otherwise just driving around the park will be a delight, especially if you go up Trail Ridge Road to the top!

Walk around Lake Estes (outside the park)

Downtown Estes is cute, get ice cream, get pizza, get a beer somewhere.

Awesome! Thank you, friend. We already had some of that on our list! So good to know we're on the right track. Will definitely add the rest of your recs.

I'm so excited to go. Never been and dying to get the fuck out of NYC for a minute. Can't wait!

Welp, finished the race. Was much slower than my typical race pace but I expected that. To be fair, I was still a bit faster than I expected to be all things considered. But fuck am I exhausted! I feel like I could fall asleep standing up. And the best part is I'm at work until 9 tonight!

I know you’re already in shape from skiing and whatever else, but im super impressed that you can go out and run at that pace. But I’m jealous and hate everything.

My legs were jello for a couple days after. i really do not have those running muscles right now. My lungs have felt amazing though at lower elevation!

I dont think i could maintain that pace for more than 4 miles so....

but some day!
