my wife felt like shit yesterday and took a covid test this morning..she has it..I guess I'm next at some point..anyway, we were supposed to go to Vancouver on Friday for the weekend for a nice getaway at a hotel downtown and dinner with friends..maybe in the next couple weeks

Jesus Christ. We get to the hotel in Atlanta and there’s like 1000 people just milling about outside and in the lobby and the bar and restaurants in the hotel. And they all have soccer shit on. Apparently, Messi is staying at this hotel and all these people are just hanging around hoping to catch a glimpse.

Wife had one of the usual ongoing follow up Doctor's appointments today. Physical exam found some unusual lumps so off for an MRI we go. It'll likely be scar tissue or something innocuous but man, I would love to get off this cancer merry go round. I know that whatever happens we will be OK and I know it's likely nothing and we need to know either way, but fuck me if it doesn't get old and begin to grind you down.

Went to the gym and went at it angry. Feel a bit better now.

Enough whining, work to be done.

There is an eagle in me and a mockingbird . . . and the eagle flies among the Rocky Mountains of my dreams and fights among the Sierra crags of what I want . . . and the mockingbird warbles in the early forenoon before the dew is gone, warbles in the underbrush of my Chattanoogas of hope, gushes over the blue Ozark foothills of my wishes—And I got the eagle and the mockingbird from the wilderness.

Got on the elevator to go grab a bite and 6-8 kids are all in there with their phones out videoing every time the door opens. When we got on, I asked them “what if he’s getting on a different elevator?” All these faces just deflated. But, they’d already been somewhat successful because some had already grabbed some video of him and two had gotten his autograph.

Mrs Wease and I will be on Argentinian television as a reporter was strolling thru the lobby talking to people and getting their responses to him being here. She bypassed us pretty quickly once she determined we don’t speak Spanish.
