I feel like I want to switch up my fighting style for this, but I'm not sure what to choose. I've been mostly a magic user.
that is the most boringest way to play dude
I almost always do a more aggressive/slash and dodge style, so I mixed it up for this game because there are so many options.

Boooooooooooooooooo
What's your build?
chose thief for newest game recently. i love using the unsheathe special move with the UCHIGATANA
This DLC doesn't fuck around. I rolled in with a lvl 170 Faith/Dex build maining a maxed Uchigitana & Godslayer seal and i'm getting mangled. I may need to respec a new build. Black Knife Tiche summon has been carrying me so far
yeah, i'm up to lvl 10 on the scadutree blessings and it's made quite a difference. Still barely managed to take down the first furnace golem though. What an absolute tank.

Adjudicator Shield
Gloom Armor
Ring of Thief
Ring of Regen
it is a work of beauty.. i think it has aged so well because we expected so much from the new ps5 generation and this was the very first game to come out and it wasn't quite what some of us wanted, in a time of so much hype. But now, compared to everything else, it might be the best PS5 game

wow
dude. i am banking on it. as i mentioned before several times in this forum, I have never actually completed bloodborne, as much as I loved it. after some deep contemplation, I remembered it was because I met my future wife at the time and got sidetracked by all that shite. Now, I'm awaiting the remake for my next playthrough. All's I need is 60FPS because that 30FPS is for the birds.
For those of you who are playing the Elden Ring DLC, can I go straight to the DLC without finishing the main game? I know you need to kill 2 specific bosses, but I say it for level reasons. Does the game scale with the player's level or is it super high in the DLC area?
i lost my old save
Sometimes I wanna drive around and find you
And act like it's a random thing

The DLC has a completely different leveling system. It is based on collectibles. That being said, having higher powered weapons/incantations/armor will still be helpful.
Be real with me, friends: I’ve never been into Souls-like games. Haven’t tried many. Bought Bloodborne when it was on super sale but never got around to playing it. I played Jedi Fallen Order, which I know is sort of Souls-lite in the boss battles at least, and I wasn’t into the combat style. I put it down to the easiest difficulty setting so I could walk through it and enjoy it as a Star Wars movie, which was fine for a game on Game Pass.
My question is: should I play Elden Ring? I’m not looking to be challenged by a game like this, because of my priors, but I hear so much about the world and the atmosphere that I’d like to lose myself in that. Would it be enjoyable, do you think, for someone who is fine with dropping the difficulty to be part of the experience?

I had never played a Souls game prior to ER largely because of what I’d heard about the punishing difficulty. The critical acclaim for ER was too much to ignore and I took the leap. So glad I did. It’s an all-timer. Highest possible recommendation.
That doesn’t mean it’s easy. You will be challenged. But it was a joy to immerse into the world and figure things out as I went.

There is no difficulty slider in these games. There are playstyles and builds you can use to make your experience a little easier but it will still be difficult. You will die. A lot. Honestly, I would suggest dipping your toe in Bloodborne before you take the plunge on ER since you already have it. It has incredible atmosphere too. There is a steep learning curve but once you get the hang of it you'll be hooked and then jumping into ER will be less daunting. Bloodborne was my first souls game and it took several hours of grinding and beating my head against the wall on the first level before I got used to the game mechanics. Getting past that initial skill check is the hardest part. Or you'll hate it and save yourself $60
