Re: Albums of 2024
Glad you are liking it so far! Frisell plays with Lloyd on a few records -- I am still exploring them, but this one and Trios: Chapel are both excellent. The Trios albums were a trilogy of records from a few years back that feature Lloyd in a variety of (very different) trio settings, and I really like them all.
Frisell has done "Masters of War" with his trio at various points in time as well -- from the Further East/Further West album that was released as a companion download to the magnificent East/West in 2005:

Re: Albums of 2024
Eminem is one of the very few remaining artists of whom I will likely buy the album on a physical CD.

He is really good and it’s an artist whose album I could listen to a lot and I like having the CD right there in my car stereo rather than fiddling around with a digital library on a screen.tragabigzanda wrote:Bammer I’m curious what the attraction is at this stage. Do you consider Eminem to be edgy, funny, or more of a nostalgia act?

you know they recorded some stuff with Albini, right?tragabigzanda wrote:I think it's awesome! I love how trebly it is, and that the drummer in particular isn't trying to wow me with the girth of his kick drum tone.
