He's... intimidatingly good. As an aspiring fretless player his shit just sounds ridiculous. This might sound like cope, but I favor the fuller sound of a neck pickup or upright bass. Jaco dancing around that bridge pickup like a madman is beautiful but not something I would ever look to reproduce.

It's such a beautiful album! I got a bit "verge of tear"-y myself at certain parts. Such incredible interplay between the sax and piano, sophisticated and highly musical but super accessible.
Tzur has three albums on ECM (including this one) and they're all great. I think this one is my favorite though.
