Sabrina Carpenter's "Espresso" beats it in both airplay and quality

Hozier kinda rips because the bassline does. I'm basic like that.

Wow. We've endured the Macarena, Mambo #5 and Crazy Frog, but you guys can't deal with a little Hozey. Get fucked.

Hozier is touring here with Joy Oladonku as support, and I'd really love to see her. Checked tickets but can't pull the trigger as already spending waaay too much this year on leisure activities.

I enjoy some of Hozier's stuff and can defo get behind this sentiment when he gets groivy:

Jorge is a poptimist. That is, he will exaggerate the worth of pop music despite... well, you know.

I like "Espresso" quite a bit, but that Hozier song is just so bland and dull. In any case, if we're measuring "song of the summer" in terms of popularity there's little competition, "Espresso" has hundreds of millions more streams on every platform

Hozier always felt a bit too close to that early 2010's Imagine Dragons, Of Monsters and Men, etc. sound for my tastes. I have a reflexive dislike of stuff that flirts with that sound -- never really cared for the music to begin with, but some unpleasant memories push it over the edge.
