all i know about NYC pizzerias they all had signs in the windows, in neon in most cases, saying their $1 slice was the best pizza in NYC

Exactly.

And that's why I've been very careful to say Chicago Deep Dish in this conversation and not Chicago style pizza.

Joking aside nobody talks about anchovies on pizza anymore

my tiny brain cant comprehend any kind of seafood on a pizza..i just wouldnt do it

that's how pizza got its start here in chigago -- it would be served in taverns (like pretzels are now) to salt the customers up.

usually you don't put the whole fish on -- it's just portions of the fillets added for umami. i actually make my pizza sauce with three processed anchovy fillets.
