And DEI policies don't say you have to hire so-and-so. They often times suggest that if two applicants are essentially tied, you go with the one that represents the minority in your workplace rather than the majority. That makes a lot of practical sense, politics aside.

As far as equity goes, your fear of socialism is showing, which is funny, because this nation is already very socialist in many ways that you would never want to change. Police? Firefighters? Public works? All socialism. If you want to drive on roads and have your ass protected from criminals and fires, then EQUITY is important to you.

As I mentioned in my post, I have directly experienced knowledge that this isn't true in practice. And I'm pretty sure that they don't claim otherwise. At least until they get called on it and switch to denying it.

This is yet another area where DEI drones claim to be the sole inheritors of liberal democratic principles and civil rights, despite the fact they know nothing about them, and are in fact actively working to dismantle them. Taxes and social services have nothing to do with diversity, equity and inclusion at all. They exist (ideally at least) to provide a base level quality of life for a community. Again equity is EQUALITY OF OUTCOME - a permanent state of equal conditions for everyone all the time, regardless of individual ability, drives, work ethic, and values - which is the very essence of communism. I know rightwingers love to claim everything is communist, but in this instance that's quite literally what this is lol. It doesn't merely provide a base level, but insists that everyone have an equal share of everything as an END result, which requires a permanent state bureaucracy to enforce (despite what marxists think) and is necessarily anti-freedom.

In your mind I'm arguing against equality, because you do not understand that equity(as DEI woke bullshit defines it) is not equality.

If equity was merely about compensation and material needs, that would be one thing. For representation and justice purposes, we need to assign titles, acclaim and responsibility in an equitable manner.

It's fine that we blew up the air traffic controller training pipeline and hired a whole bunch of folx that happened to be on a black fraternity/ sorority mailing list. They met the minimum qualifications in order to get to the testing stage, so it's fine. Everyone hired before them was the product of nepotism, so any differences in tested ability were illusory to begin with. We have a more diverse air traffic controller community, and you can't put a dollar value on that.
