Do you guys remember when I took that leave to go to rehab for six weeks last fall?

Without any virtual explanation, I was let go from my job last week. With zero severance pay.

I now have a lawyer and filing a discrimination claim against my former employer to force them to pay severance. Because my firing was within six month of my leave it sounds like I have a very good chance at winning some money.

I don't want to do this, but fuck, I think they really screwed me over because my work has been outstanding since I returned in December and all my reviews good, etc.

I don't even have to sue, I just have to file a complaint and then negotiate. Very weird - they must have thought I wouldn't pursue it. It does take effort but worth it.

Well, I understand that, for sure. Mrs Wease has to fire a good friend of hers due to the same reasons (never hire your friends or their kids). But it does seem suspicious you’re the only one with a pink slip. Take ‘em for what you can, I say.

There is a baboon in me . . . clambering-clawed . . . dog-faced . . . yawping a galoot's hunger . . . hairy under the armpits . . . here are the hawk-eyed hankering men . . . here are the blonde and blue-eyed women . . . here they hide curled asleep waiting . . . ready to snarl and kill . . . ready to sing and give milk . . . waiting—I keep the baboon because the wilderness says so.

There is an eagle in me and a mockingbird . . . and the eagle flies among the Rocky Mountains of my dreams and fights among the Sierra crags of what I want . . . and the mockingbird warbles in the early forenoon before the dew is gone, warbles in the underbrush of my Chattanoogas of hope, gushes over the blue Ozark foothills of my wishes—And I got the eagle and the mockingbird from the wilderness.

Sorry fellas. I'm good. Was unemployed for all of seven weeks and got a new job with even better pay. Have just been drinking from the firehose with the new job and finally came up for air.
