Vp seems like it would be a step down from governor, though I guess governors have to do actual work.

He’s an outgoing Governor but a Democrat. The Republican candidate in this year’s race is psychotic. The Dem isn’t great either so whatever i guess. I just figured Cooper doesn’t want to ruffle feathers in NC

Maybe he wants to run again in 2028.

Isn’t there some weird law in NC that if Cooper leaves the state to campaign, then the psycho Republican lieutenant governor is in charge?

Yes that seems to be part of his decision. I wonder if he’ll balk at a cabinet position as well, if Kamala wins.

He has to vacate the Governor's office in January no matter what.

Is there an issue with Republicans being WEIRD? (Western, Educated, Industrialized, Rich, and Democratic)

Apparently that acronym is problematic for 'othering' the developing world. It's got a negative connotation as far as they are concerned.

What's "weird":

Insisting you are the party of smaller government, but using it to repress women, harass LGBT people, and punish people without biological offspring (that last one is a Vance special).

True libertarians should not support that crap, but they've bought into the Republican party largely because guns are more important than children, apparently/ironically.
