Ridley the king of all if possibleI'm planning on adding Gigaton and Dark Matter discs to my 'Definitive Live' compilation after the conclusion of the 2024 tour. I still need to get around to doing a Covers disc too.Kevin Davis wrote:Here is Ridley's Gigaton live comp, which is the best of what was available at the time, but I think a lot of these songs were done better in 2022 and beyond -- this comp was only pulling from a handful of performances (as was the Gigaton tour edition):

In the meantime you'll have to buy Stip and B's new book which contains my recommendations for the best Gigaton performances to date

It's good to be reminded that there are all sorts in this world and that just because I like things a certain way it doesn't mean that way is best for everyone.dimejinky99 wrote:shit. theyre all FLAC

The “Be Humble” tag might be as good as “Oh Great Ocean” is after One Tree Hill.

At the same time, it relies heavily on autotune. Does this impact your appreciation of the album at all?

it would bother me if it sounded bad, but it sounds great and sounds authentic. i think it would be cooler if he could still get there unassisted but the dude is 60 years old and sounding like the best version of himself rather than using technology to sound like a 60 year trying to sound 25 is find with me. makes for a great listening experience which is what I care about

Re: Dark Matter: Official Album Thread
Yellow Moon is the song where autotune jumps out to me.
“earth vibraaaate”
“moooon changing shape”
“round we goooo”
“no one knoooows”
It sounds like a slight unnatural wobble in his voice when he holds the longer notes.
I don’t really notice it otherwise. What’s the earliest example of Ed using it? Backspacer?
