they usually get "notices" from the state department. their carriers have no say whatsoever (other than when it comes time to contest a claim or negotiate a policy extension).
NOTAMs would apply to all carriers. Why would something triggered by the state department not result in FAA (or their international partners) just closing the entire airspace?
wait, what are we talking about? i interpreted your question as whether a carrier can dictate to its insured how it operates. is that not what you were asking?
On how they decide when to cancel flights on the edge cases when they aren't technically prohibited to use the airspace (FAA NOTAMs), and other carriers are still operating in the area.

Per your above, State Department can issue prohibitions with similar weight, but that only apply to domestic carriers. Seems strange to do that without looping in the FAA and their partner organizations.
your first question mentioned "insurance carrier." your follow-up refer to airline carriers.
Yes, and you indicated it's just state department. When announcements are made it appears to be airline carrier by airline carrier, so I assumed some private entity (be it airline, insurance, whoever) was making independent decisions. If it's a state department thing then as you say, insurance has nothing to do with it.

it's not a state department mandate unless it is restricting international airspace because of a theatre of war. it's more like a travel advisory, and the carriers do whatever calculus they do based on the information conveyed. but insurers definitely have no right to dictate to the airlines -- that can create liability for them or obligations that are otherwise not theirs.

Is this gonna be another one of those scheduled retaliatory attacks where they tell Israel ahead of time so no one actually gets hurt?

No reports about Yahya Sinwar, who appears to still be alive.

Thanks for that Anders. It hasnt been reported here at all, and our media are usually on point when it comes to this genocide and all aspects of it.

Earlier speculation about a long range airstrike is not correct. They planted a bomb in the residence he was staying at ahead of time. This is consistent with their long campaign of blowing up Iranian nuclear scientists with bombs planted on their vehicles, etc. They clearly still have people on the ground in Tehran.

How do you come to understand the full picture so well, while the rest of us are mostly in the dark being so reliant on the heavily edited media?

Because you start with "who has less relative power" instead of "who benefits"

Okay, but how do you come to your conclusions about what’s REALLY happening?

Israelis now can’t get out of Israel. All the main carriers have cancelled from tel aviv and the airport closed? Ironic. And they’re blaming an order from Netenyahu for that?

Does anyone know what’s really happening there?
