oh i know. And i'm onboard and a trans ally for 99% of it and against the endless onslaught and threats they get every single day. But something like this, at the olympics of all places.. doesnt help the trans cause at all. Quite the opposite.

I'm not getting into this specific fight, apparently there's loads of previous with the fighter involved and the IOC seem to have turned a blind eye to it, probably not wanting to get hung out to dry over it as they would be no matter what they decided. But it's all wrong.

It's my understanding that the boxer isn't trans, but some kind of intersex? I don't know what you do about these sort of rare edge cases except ban them from women's sports, but that's always gonna be a problem regardless of banning trans athletes from women's competition. It's not as if Albania or wherever is big on trans people.
