I had my ablation yesterday and just like the first time i was eerily calm about it.

got there at 520 am and didnt leave until 430pm

never thought having 5 women in a room while being shaved down (chest, back and groin) wouldnt elicit a reaction on my part.

once they hit you with the first wave of happy juice it is over. about 11am i finally come to with a nurse holding pressure on my groin from where they entered. after about 15 minutes she stopped and took a look and i was still, as she put it, "oozing". this went on and on until about 1230-1pm when they put a 10lb weight on the guaze to keep pressure on it.

they would check again and the oozing was fading fast so they gently started to prop me up. throughout the whole procedure you have to lay flat on your back which sounds like heaven but your head cannot be propped up and you cannot cross your legs. add to the fact both hands have IV's in them and a pulse monitor on one hand and a blood pressure cuff on the other arm and well....

i was a smidge woozy when i left i guess from the happy juice and the loss of blood. not enough blood that i needed an infusion but i saw the gauzes and the bed and thought ewww

when they finally put me up at 45 degree angle the urge to pee hit and it hit fast. i told the nurse it was better i go sooner than later and she handed me the pee bottle just in time.

so far the dressing is still dry and white and should be able to go to work friday

i got access to the notes to what they did and here are the details

Procedure Description:
The patient was brought to the EP laboratory in the fasting state after
informed consent was obtained and prepped and draped in the usual sterile
fashion. Endotracheal intubation was performed and general anesthesia was
administered. Right femoral venous access was obtained with ultrasound
guidance. Catheters were advanced using electroanatomic mapping (9F RFV:
ICE; 8F RFV: decapolar CS; RFV: Steerable sheath). No fluoroscopy was
used during the procedure. The results were as follows:

1. The baseline rhythm was sinus 40 bpm.
2. There was no pericardial effusion at baseline. IV heparin was
administered and titrated to an ACT of 350-400s. An EnsoETM catheter was
used for esophageal cooling.
3. Intracardiac echocardiography (ICE) imaging was performed with
delineation of the CS, cavotricuspid isthmus, left atrium, pulmonary
veins, atrial appendage, and interatrial septum.
4. Electronanatomic mapping of the RA was performed.
5. Transeptal puncture was performed following administration of IV
heparin to an ACT of 350 using ICE guidance. An Amplatz J wire was
advanced to the LSPV, and a steerable sheath advanced to the left atrium.
6. A multielectrode catheter (Octaray) was used for electroanatomic
mapping of the left atrium. An irrigated contact force catheter was used
for RF ablation. The results were as follows:
A) LSPV, LIPV: These veins were durably isolated from his initial
procedure in 2020.
B) RSPV, RIPV: These veins were durably isolated from his initial
procedure in 2020.
C) Durable bidirectional block was present across the CTI.
D) Programmed stimulation was performed with induction of AF with
straight atrial pacing following a PAC from the posterior wall of the left
atrium.
E) Posterior wall isolation was then performed with roof line ablation,
low posterior ablation, and box ablation.
7. After isolation of the pulmonary veins, programmed stimulation was
performed without AF induction.
8. Bidirectional block was reconfirmed from each vein and the posterior
left atrial wall, and post ablation voltage mapping was then performed.
9. No pericardial effusion was present at the end of the procedure.
