If it's Tim Bierman, it'd make sense.

Yeah what’s surprising is that tay tay announced it first
It was announced first, yes, but I think Pearl Jam had April 19th circled and finalized as the release date far before Swift's announcement.

Yeah, I haven't listened to this new Swift record yet at all, but the last two Arctic Monkeys records were lit!

I listened to the first four tracks. I like it well enough. Yes there are some recycled, or maybe familiar is the more gracious word, melodic ideas. Certainly, the lyrics aren't breaking any established TS mold. But I find it charming and engaging, so far. Some clever phrases and fun references.

We'll see what the other 47 tracks do to me....

But I'm also not a big fan, really. I didn't even start listening to her stuff until Lover and I didn't start diving deep until Midnights. Hell, I didn't hear 89 or Red in full until a few months ago. So...

After a first listen, i totally understand why this album might be a step down. Feels way too mid tempo, songs seem way too similar sometimes. I admit im not really craving for it, as these days is all PJ all the time, but still i dont remember nothing really grabbing me musically.

I guess the single, Florida!!! and Loml are my favorites and i still need to check out those other songs, that might be very interesting too because its Aaron Dessner producing them.

Ill come back to these songs later in the week to see whats happening then, but so far im not feeling it that much.

Taylor needs to call Finneas and make a very danceable album.

TTPD was not a surprise.
TTPD: Anthology was a second album that was a surprise.

I didn't know who Taylor Swift was until one day, at my job which at the time was writing product descriptions of shoes for Amazon.com, I saw a show that had 12.13.89 on it. I was curious why my birthday was on a shoe (not the 1989 part, but the 12.13 part). I asked my coworkers (all young single women save for one who was married like me) and received quite an education on that day.

Now she, Dick Van Dyke, me, and Steve Buscemi get together every December and toast one another's good health.
