Let me try to clarify one more time. In this "Present Tense" video, Eddie changes the lyrics from "all encompassing trip" to "all big fucking trip." This comprises the part of my post where I say:

All of Eddie's curse word and/or drug reference additions are awful

Shortly after that, warehouse mentioned how sometimes Eddie will change the lyric to "In Hiding" from "upside down" to "tripping balls" -- not as a part of this video, but as a part of his tendency to change lyrics in general to fit this theme. This comprises the part of my post where I say:

Then, in response to your (I believe true) comment that "all encompassing trip" was not a drug reference, which is not what I was referring to to begin with when I said "drug references," I included a few of my own examples in addition to warehouse's initial example -- again, general examples, not things that I was saying were examples from this particular video -- just to clarify the kind of thing I was referring to.

My point was that Eddie does this a lot, in this video and elsewhere, sometimes to add curse words and sometimes to make drug references, and I don't think it ever serves the song well -- even though some performances that contain these changes can still be enjoyable for many other reasons. Hope that is clearer.

It always just feels like pander to me. It'll get the stoners in the crowd to go "woo". I'm team KD here. It's weak jazz.

It has been remastered. The original date listed was 11/19/93. The correct date is the first of 3 nights in New Orleans on the 16th of November 1993.

Same. Actually didn't mind them through gravity. Also saw them in a smaller club in mpls and he stage dived from upper level. Awesome show.

Besides their big radio hits, Naveed is the only one I really know by them, but that's a great album.

Their sound changes pretty dramatically (for the better - it develops its own unique identify) and they got a new guitarist who wrote some really great music. And then he left the band and the songs became a lot more generic emo rock. Clumsy, Happiness is not a fish... and Spiritual Machines are worth checking out. Happiness is a Great record.

I like some of the singles from those records (One Man Army and Innocent are pretty good), but I much prefer their original sound. Starseed, Naveed, Supersatellite...that's where it's at.

I'm not sure when exactly Jeremy Taggart left the band, but he was a great drummer.
