I think 2 from this group will be played:

Getaway
Lightning Bolt
Sleeping By Myself

The problem with that will be Ed's burning intensity and overall twitchy demeanor when singing will imply that that bitch ain't a part of him because he killed her.

Interesting take. Robin Pecknold is a very legit artist, and it's very very interesting to see someone take on the subject matter of Corduroy. I get that the arrangement was a little tricky, and it was a well-intentioned try at what's got to be a really hard song to do. He'd probably top PJ if they covered any of their folky songs, that would be almost too easy for them. This was a bit of a surprise, and I appreciated it for just that alone. I did find myself feeling like I was hearing the lyrics in a new way, so atleast it worked on that level. I also gotta rewatch to check out this cute blonde chick.

I'm not sure they will necessarily play 2 songs off the new album....hopefully one new song and maybe a classic tune.

Sirens is a given

other than that I'd say the best chances are:

Mind Your Manners
Lightning Bolt
Swallowed Whole
Let the Records Play

there's no way the second song is not something somewhat upbeat, and I don't buy that they play Getaway

i think he covered betterman at some of his solo shows, but its not like this is an epidemic or something

i thought the 'corduroy' performance was really cool. kinda what i expected, but still really cool. that dude has a great voice.

The audience in the back was hilarious.

The performance wasn't bad, but outside of the drummer, I thought it was very average. It just sounded and felt like a refined version of what a high school garage band would have played. I will say it was pretty cool that the vocals were much more intelligible, but they also weren't very moving.

I'm sure it's happened before. But my point was supposed to be more general: grunge musicians propping up other grunge musicians (Temple of the Dog and other such collaborations, live or on record) isn't very interesting to me anymore. I'd much rather see an unexpected cover like the second one.

Oh I agree. I just didn't think this was that interesting. The singer had a nice voice but the overall effect was to make the song feel kinda lifeless. Pleasant. This was the corduroy cover equivalent of Future days at Wrigley Field

Except that the song was great, which helped.

Nice take on it.

I put the studio Corduroy on after listening to this. Pearl Jam is amazing.

I find RM a little too cynical for my taste most of the time, but this comment is dead on!
