there was no 'internal disagreement'. Ed just didnt play it for the lads until the recording sessions for vitalogy...theres a stone quote where he says something like 'hes been keeping *that* from us what else does he have? its a hit!'

there definitely wasnt any disagreement over it though

The singer/songwriter allegedly wanted to give the song away. I’m gonna assume it took some internal disagreement to prevent that from happening.

Better Man was first recorded in Marin during the Vs. sessions. It was played live at Slim’s prior to the Vs. album release.

and what?

in no universe does Betterman fit on Vs. the very idea of it is broken and kind of appalling.

I was defending your apparent attack on the validity of my statement. Didn’t consider that to be appalling.

Is this the next best Ed cover after Hard Sun?

Hard Sun

Throw Your Arms Around Me
Shine On You Crazy Diamond (w/Jack Irons)
Hymn (with Hovercraft, and it's a poem, so not sure if it counts? But the track rules.)
Masters of War (though admittedly his PJ versions are better)
I Believe In Miracles
This.
I'd add I Am Sam's: "You've got to hide your love away"
And Water on the Road's: "Trouble", "Forever Young" & "Golden State".

Damn, I definitely should've included that one.
Also, the Crucible version of Throw Your Arms Around Me (the one featured on The Bear) is not available to purchase for me.
Anyone have the same problem? A hookup is appreciated.

If we're including live, non-studio covers, then "Ship Song" and "You Can Close Your Eyes" are two of my favs.

Ed's played it more than once I think, but most notably with Natalie Maines at a West Memphis Three thing
