I hadn't watched it since I was a kid and kind of wrote it off as 90s shlock but I just gave it a watch and was thoroughly impressed by about 80% of it. The fight atop the subway train is the only part where the filmmaking really lets it down. Everything else is so well executed even when it's being extremely stupid
You wrote it off as 90s shlock when you were a kid?
No, I wrote it off as 90s schlock as a grownup based on my recollection of watching it as a kid

Agree with Doug. The tension and simplicity of it.

would be cool if Duel was a kind of Mad Max orogin story..that could work

Oh the road to Alien 3 is a fascinating one. That’s from a YouTube documentary were they tell the whole story with all the involved ones sans of course Fincher and other guys.

To think Vincent Ward was about to start directing this one !! William Gibson and also the guy from Pitch Black wrote other scripts

I also recommend the great Halloweenies podcast about the series and this entry in particular.

Internal Affairs...the white version. It was pretty good. Gere plays a good d-bag.

Yes, it was. But now we're supposed to all say it's so much better than anyone remembered and it's possibly the best of the trilogy. 3 sucks now.

Back to the future is the best.

II and III are completely unnecessary.

They shouldn't have mad them The original is perfect on its own.

I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

It used to be. The Great Culture is in the midst of a Grand Revision. Turns out 2 has always been secretly brilliant and 3 has always been utter garbage.
