What are we all so convinced this is ever imminent?
Probably because of how little music he’s done over the past ten years (although he’s done some memorable acting). I’d say there’s a good chance he’s just enjoying an unannounced retirement.

It’s funny, I’m not so worried about Neil Young even though he’s a similar age and has had many more (public) health concerns, but he releases stuff so frequently, that a bump just feels like a bump.

Interestingly, there's a verse in there ("Jesus of Nazareth told Mike of the Weeds...") that was cut from the final version and later used in "Sins of the Father" on Real Gone. Love little windows into the creative process like that.
I noted the addition, but missed that it is in Sins of the Father. Get Behind the Mule is an all timer for me. Sins of the Father is not one I could recite.
It's way past time you fixed that.

It's because he's looked 70 for over 20 years

That's been a rumor for about two years now. Last year there was even talk of a new album THIS year.

I hope the rumors are true...

Just saw this nice little video of Tom improvising on the piano on the set of The Ballad of Buster Scruggs

Very Asylum Years vibes

I had never seen this one before, Tom & Eddie sharing a stage, starts around 4:20:

Background vocals: Eddie Vedder, Ani DiFranco, Steve Earle & Tim Robbins. Tambourine: John Densmore
I want to be a warm and friendly person
But I don't know how to do it
