Re: Star Wars: Acolyte
Not surprising lbh. Qimir was the only character I would like to see again tbh. Maybe Basil.
Vernestra, Osha/Mae nope!!!!
Ratings were terrible in comparison to other series.
Maybe an animated spin off show somewhere down the line best guest.

its better this way, no?
leave it all hanging. Problem with SW since they took it over is the need to explain everything but not really develop anything within it.
I'm not sure we needed a second season of this one. Plagueis be damned.

Re: Star Wars: Acolyte
You’re making a terrible mistake by canceling this insanely expensive show that failed to build an audience, and generated such loving praise as “that felt underbaked” and “hopefully they find a way to expand on that in the next episode” from its supporters.

No. They’re making a huge mistake giving in to a rabid toxic and very organised group who have been harrassing all the cast in all the various releases, and other fans of the franchise, since as far back as John Boyega popped up in a trailer as a black stormtrooper.
And especially every female or POC cast member since.

‘Lucasfilm using the nostalgia of a franchise launched 40 years ago is a formula they keep rehashing over and over again with the feature films. Sadly, The Acolyte is gone, and Black women yet again are attacked for just existing.’

You’re living in a fantasy world. Disney didn’t cancel this show because a handful of racists made noise online. Disney canceled the show because the numbers sucked. It’s a corporation.dimejinky99 wrote:No. They’re making a huge mistake giving in to a rabid toxic and very organised group who have been harrassing all the cast in all the various releases, and other fans of the franchise, since as far back as John Boyega popped up in a trailer as a black stormtrooper.

The “it bad because woke” comments on social media were never as omnipresent as the legitimate complaints about pacing, story, and characterization were….and many of those were coming from Star Wars fans.
I’m sorry that something you enjoyed went away. That always sucks. But the problem wasn’t that racists didn’t like this show. It was people. People didn’t like this show. So many of them that the obvious business decision was made.

I wonder if we took two and a half seconds we could understand why 1 and 1 doesn't equal 4.

It cost 180 million and not enough people watched. That's the real math problem. Spending four quadrant money on a project that will only appeal to a niche audience is not a recipe for success.

Oh sorry thought it was a response to McP. I do feel bad for people that liked the show. There have been a lot of shows over the years that I loved that didn't have an audience and got cancelled. Still sad about Jericho and GLOW and a dozen others shows. Sucks.
