Re: Infallible
This song makes more sense every time I hear it. I'm even starting to like the poppiness and the juxtaposition of styles between verse and chorus. If they wanted to bridge the gap between Backspacer and Pendulum (and then whatever else is hopefully on the next album), this was a good way to do it.

I enjoy so much about Infallible, everything really, though the main rhythm guitar effect throws something off a little on an otherwise great song. Should be awesome live!

Re: Infallible
I'm having a hard time giving the other songs enough attention because of Infallible. As much as I'm enjoying the rest of the album (and that is a LOT), I find myself waiting for Infallible to come back on.
Pearl Jam is the only band I'll spend money on.

I've pretty much come around to this song, I think.

Re: Infallible
I really dislike the ending.
I appreciate how it's supposed to droll on in connection with the last line of the lyrics but It feels poorly done.

There's the dog. You can't fake that stuff. Confess with your mouth.

I feel the best part of the song begins at 2:47 and then ends when the song ends.

Re: Infallible
I just caught myself bobbing my head to the chorus. So the song wins.

Re: Infallible
This song is great and eds voice soars. Especially the last "Keep on slipping right through our hands..." and the final "yea yea ahhhhhhh!"
I love the groove.

Re: Infallible
When the chorus was most annoying me, the "hook" that always pulled me back in was "Time we'd best begin here at the ending"... and then the stop. I always liked that bit, so I knew it wouldn't be long before I got used to the rest. No point in throwing out a song for the sake of a few lines.

I can't get him to agree with anything I say about modern-day PJ. We might just have to dispose of him in as humane a way as possible.Strat wrote:harmless wrote:When the chorus was most annoying me, the "hook" that always pulled me back in was "Time we'd best begin here at the ending"... and then the stop. how about we strap him down and make him listen to let the records play for 10 days straight without sleep?

Re: Infallible
I just tried streaming this song after reading that conversation, just to see if anything had changed, and I was bored to death by the middle of the first chorus. No way was I going to see that through to the end. I honestly think it was the least I've ever liked this song, and that's saying something.
