Not enough of a big deal is made about the 'premium' tickets. I hate the concept in general but if you wanna say the first few rows are premium, then fine. That's how it started off years ago.

MSG recently put up numerous sections of premium tickets. Practically whole sections on the 100-levels. We had already seen a ton of premium seats across from the stage, now the middle sections.....so ok, im sorry, HOW many sections were reserved in entirety as 'premium' tickets? Did MSG just reserve like half of the 100-level seats as 'premium' tickets? As in, most of the good seats for the show? There are seats in the back row of the 100s that are selling for 'face value' at 800 dollars because they were premium. The back row of the 100 level section when the arena only HAS floor, 100 level, and 200 level?

Im sorry but when you have like most of your decent seats reserved as 'premium' tickets you aren't having premium tickets, you are just selling $800 tickets for the lower section. This isn't premium seats, this is just $800 ticket prices.

This is really just nonsense IMO, especially coming from a band that used to stand up for their fans. I know they likely are not fully responsible, and that Ticketmaster does this automatically, but man this is just absurd that they are allowing this to happen.

Of course now they are like $400-500 not $800 when they started. And probably once they've exploited as many people willing to pay as they can, they will just sell them for cheap , and take zero loss. Ticketmaster has always been problematic, but as somebody who has been using them for 20 years they have become 10x worse in the last few years. If Pearl Jam fought them in the 90s I can't imagine what they must think now? Like we thought fees were bad but they are marking up tickets by like 6x face value for most of the good seats in the arena now?

i bitched about this at length when the 10C lottery ended

i am over it now

Ed said something like post-pandemic, the cost of running tours like this is super high, and stuff just costs more if you do these arenas

i think there might have also been a comment that this was part of the trade-off in exchange for the ability to allocate more 10C tickets

overall I do think the band has significantly watered-down its values

i think this erosion began a long time ago, however. this is simply the most glaring evidence that it happened

I was a bit annoyed then, but I’m more annoyed now realizing they’ve been sitting on entire amazing sections to make the show look scarce only revealing that they have a ton of seats that they hadn’t even put up for sale at all, and that even more seats are premium than we already thought.

yeah this is absolutely insane. i dunno how any of this is legal. buying tickets through TM was always annoying, but this is just nut.

Pearl Jam getting in bed with Ticketmaster to this extent has pretty much killed my love for this band.

I recommend TickPick. Full all in cost is what is shown. I’ve used it 4 times for concerts, comedy, and sports. Super smooth.
