Wayside - a Strat band

Post by Strat »

Hello you beautiful monsters!

New single, upcoming EP, and full album to follow. Been a major passion project and quite transformational for me over the past couple of years!

Tossed together a quick visualier video just to have something on youtube but the first song, God Size Hole, a personal favorite of mine, is streaming on all of your favorite platforms!

https://open.spotify.com/track/77uBUTPg ... 72bc9a4e7a

Hope you like! If not, try again, if you really dont, then tell your friends!

Also, if you really like it, or are just a NYC resident and in town this week for Pearl Jam, we are playing at the Cutting Room Thursday September 5th. Ed's EB Foundation is hosting a fundraiser and we are thrilled to be playing it.

Richard Stuverud will be joining us for the evening. He is playing drums for the other band, and my band will be playing one of his songs and he'll sit in for a cover ....can't fucking wait!

Who knows who else might show?!

Also, i'd be remiss if i didnt think our very own Trag for all the knowledge, hand holding, and dream pushing since this all began not knowing how to record.

I ended up taking this to be professional mixed in a studio but was able to have enough knowledge to help get it to where we wanted!

Thanks trag!

Right now probably just baba unless something changes. Easy to do with no rehearsal and having seen him do it with pj, I can't wait to see him blast away back there. My drummer then can also just hop up and play guitar too

Girls eyes would be awesome. I loved the fastbacks cover of that back in the day. Or holes in the road from tres mtns. Perhaps I'll bust that out during sound check so he knows how cool I am

Sounds legit. Happy for you, Strat.

Just curious, what are your specific contributions to this song (and others)? I know you played guitar, did you write the song(s) too?

Thanks tree!!i I appreciate it.

For this song in particular I wrote all the music and played both guitars and bass. I had a vision for the drums and my drummer knocked it out of the park. Singer wrote lyrics.

I'd say that's about how it went for a little more than half the songs coming out. The singer wrote a handful of songs himself - sometimes I'd write the bridge

Yea I'm really just trying to zero in on the fact I did something with my best friends that were super proud of. We understand few others care. Hoping to play some cool shows out of it though, starting with NYC Thursday!

Yeah buddy.

The slower tempo riff gives me Black Keys vibes.

When the singer goes all out I hear Ian Astbury.
