Since it seems like not everyone has watched yet, I’ll spoiler tag my thoughts:
Spoiler: show
I figured out pretty quickly that River wasn’t dead, and I guessed correctly that he went off with his grandpa. But there was that briiiiiiief second when Lamb reacted to the body that I thought it really was River, and I thought that would be a very bold choice for the show and was excited about it. Not sure what they’re doing with the beta First Desk. Those crime scene techs are like the dumbest motherfuckers alive. Glad Catherine got roped back into everything, she’s great. Can’t wait for more.

I was thinking about it today, and with the way they have developed characters and relationships and the world over 3 seasons and counting (spoilers for SE04EP01):
Spoiler: show
The way that Lamb texted Ho about River dying was perfect. It worked whether or not Lamb actually thought/knew River was alive or dead—in both scenarios, he would send a casual text devoid of feeling. It just works.

Just watched season 1 episode 1. I’m in. Alicent, and she smiles!

Related - just saw an insta post yesterday that said there isn’t a letter more important in a Google search than the R in Gary Oldman. :D

I really enjoyed episode 2 of this season. A lot of good dialogue. I loved when Roddy said "I'm a West Acres survivor"

I think it’s pretty clear after episode 5 that
Spoiler: show
River is one of Harkness’s sons.
I also wonder
Spoiler: show
If this is gonna be a 2-season arc. I haven’t read the books so I don’t have any special insight.

This season hasn't felt has strong to me as the previous seasons. I'm still really enjoying it. But it's so plot heavy. I want more character time.

There are a few characters who feel like they don’t have much to do—Luisa, for example. Her moment with River in the premiere was really good, but she’s just been running errands since then, unlike Shirley and Marcus, who continue to have an evolving and lively relationship throughout the season.

But it all just feels rote this year. Shirley and Marcus have the same relations hip as last season. I don't see much evolution or movement there, entertaining as it is. Roddy Ho is.... still Roddy Ho. Even Jackson feels a bit thin, not quite a skit about Jackson but not far off.

Again, I'm still liking it. A lot. But the quality this season is fairly depressed from the first three.

I think I've only seen 4 so far this season? Maybe 3?
