BTW, her national anthem the other afternoon at the Liberty game was fantastic. Quiet. Subtle. Intimate. One of the more unique versions of the anthem I've ever heard. Felt like a hymn.

I liked those live performances but i still struggle with the bridge of Flea, mostly because it sounds so similar to the music of Serú Girán, an argentinian band i didnt quite liked that much.

Its like Annie listened to a few songs from them and stole their bridges

Fascinating. I've never heard of that Argentinian band. Is there a particular song you'd recommend just for comparison purposes?

well, i dont remember the names...but probably any live version of anything could have a similar bridge.

Show tonight was electric. I had two "newbies" with me. Both said their minds were blown. My wife was really in a vibe, quietly thrashing and loving it. Great, great show.

She fucking LOVED it. But it was a tight fit. Fairly crowded venue and she wanted to really dance and let go. She had to be a little restrained, movement wise. But she was in heaven. I haven't seen her at a show like that in a long time.

The last time she was able to see StV on tour was the Masseduction show. Which was totally different. Very sterile and sort of performance arty. And she thought it was interesting but she didn't love it. Wasn't for her.

I was glad she got to see Annie melting faces and burning the room down! :bammer:

Oh also, Yves Tumor opened. And they were fucking incredible. Never heard their stuff before but I was super into it.

oh cool

yeah, i wanna see her playing these songs live. She is playing i think Bogota in march, so that means she needs to play at least brazil and argentina too. She wasnt announced in Lollapalooza so im thinking she will get a solo show here.

Totally go, if you have the chance. She played 7 songs from the new record last night and they were all straight fire! Big Time Nothing maybe suffers a bit as compared to the studio version, if I'm being totally honest. But I loved hearing it. Still though it was a cool version. And the crowd was really into all of the newer stuff. That was kinda weird, being at a show where the newer stuff got a bigger reaction than the Strange Mercy / Actor stuff.

I'm getting old, man.
