Look, this started off because I said that a single performance during "PJ Week" might've been more interesting with someone else (other than Chris Cornell). That does not mean that everyone who has ever covered Pearl Jam was awful, but it does mean that Chris Cornell is kind of a lazy choice for this particular week.

It was an obvious one, but it was also really interesting because of the song. They share history with Chris specially with Footsteps.harmless wrote:Look, this started off because I said that a single performance during "PJ Week" might've been more interesting with someone else (other than Chris Cornell). Also, its a b side. And a great song too...

I get the reasons Chris sang it, I just would have liked a more surprising choice. I knew exactly what it sounded like before I'd heard it.VinylGuy wrote:It was an obvious one, but it was also really interesting because of the song. Loved Footsteps.
I love Fleet Foxes, but I turned off Corduroy before it was even over. Horrendous, IMO.

Re: Pearl Jam WEEK on Jimmy Fallon
Just saw the Corduroy cover and I like Pecknold/Fleet Foxes but the instructive part was that it proved how difficult it is to play like Pearl Jam and sing like Ed.
In a roundabout way, solidified for me that Corduroy is probably their finest moment. What a fucking song.
