It almost stands out as it’s so different and distinct to the rest on DM

The riff feels more like an Eddie riff than say a stone riff, and so less Ten in its feel. . The elements that are most Ten are the full lean into anthemic bombast, and Eddie crooning over the outro, which is in EVERY ten climax and then basically drops out of the catalog. And it is expansive in a way that feels very Ten. It is ten in its influences and performances. But not the riff.

And again, for the small number of hand-wringers worried about Watt's songwriting credits on this one, he's got a music songwriting credit on every track on the album. No, that does not mean this isn't a Pearl Jam album. It's just how he rolls. BO'B, Parashar, and others have had as much influence in other ways with this band.

To clarify, he is rolling with "Pay me a day rate for my session time, and also a portion of your publishing revenues, in perpetuity, because I've helped you write these songs."

I thought Gigaton was a minor triumph in both creative approach and sonics, so I would've been happy to see them continue plugging away in the warehouse with Josh Evans for another few records.

its an incredible record, but Gigaton (by design) doesnt feel major. its a little too long, rambling, introspective in a stream of consciousness kind of way - probably reflecting how it was developed. Its the No Code to Dark Matter’s Yield in that way
