i like the REM comparison but i think i just prefer REM. u2 should have followed them into retirement.
I like Rattle and Hum quite a bit but it is fairly up and down as an overall listen. All I Want is You, Angel of Harlem and Desire though, tremendous high points.
Yeah, I generally like the new songs on Rattle and Hum. I get that it's more of a film soundtrack so the live cuts are on there, but the best live cut from the movie (with or without you) isn't even on the record. Of all the Joshua Tree songs in the film, only Bullet the Blue Sky made the soundtrack. That's a head scratcher.
All I Want Is You is an all timer. Tremendous song.

Heard All I Want Is You playing on 'EHM in the warehouse today, always love to hear it.
U2 dropped 3 'new' songs of HTDAAB the other day. Just listening to one of em. Its not awwful. Its very middle of the road though. Interesting bridge thats far far too short.

Pop is a flawed masterpiece that saaaaaaaaags in the 3rd quarter.
I would love to see a resequenced version released on vinyl, something like Scott Ackerman’s idea. Now that the b-sides are readily available I really enjoy that version.
there was a similar alternate tracked version that was posted on @u2 many years ago, it sort of does the same blend of the best of new mixes/single versions/b-sides and I often go back to it, it's the full album + b-sides however, nothing cut.
dudes, there is a movie or series coming next, i think may 30th about Bono´s book. Its called Stories of Surrender and seems will feature some of his theatre presentations when he released the book.

I saw Bono: Stories of Surrender yesterday and had such a good time. The doc looks great, loved the camera directing and the guy is such an amazing storyteller.
Totally agree, saw it last night too and it’s a great watch, some stories have been told over and over but some are new too and told well.
The film was very nicely shot too, great work all in all.

Indeed, I can see why people can’t handle too much of him these days but in this case I think it’s easier, he sticks to his narrative and doesn’t digress as he does too often in interviews.
Btw, anyone watched the Joe Rogan thing? It’s fucking long, I need to find time for it.
