Took the day off and I’m spending the weekend at a hotel in a city nearby.

Wife took off for her two week work trip this morning.

Kid had me up just before 7am howling for breakfast.

I set her up in front of the TV with it and went back to bed.

Now it’s pissing rain so we’re probably stuck inside all day. Close quarters like a bull and matador.

Having a tea and racking my brain for things to keep her occupied. Might turn the dining table into a fort and see if that burns thirty minutes.

It’s now 8:39am.

It depends. She’s a bit young to grasp most of them still, so it turns into chaos rather quickly.

Also, we have a ton of board games, but they’re all in our as yet to be delivered shipping container, and I ain’t buying more. That’s been an overall theme with a lot of things the last few months. Will be good to finally have our stuff in a few weeks.

despite having about 10 beers last night i was surprisingly OK this morning

took a brief cat nap around 2:30pm

but amazed i didnt feel like death

i think the key was to not eat anything late night after the show

not eating is the new eating

They’re around here somewhere. We had to go to the shops to get a present for a birthday party tomorrow, so I grabbed some kid scissors for her to mess with while out. Her teacher said she could use the practice.

my plan to put the child to bed early around 7 has hit a snag. unexpected floor nap at ten after four, though i don't mind the temporary peace.

Great weekend. This hotel is great, nice warm swimming pool, went to the sauna and also got massages.

Great food and wine, also got champagne.

Heading to a museum in a moment and then home.
