Yeah, the first Ghoulies is more of a satanic trope film, Ghoulies 2 does feature the little shitheads more prominently. Its by no means a good film, but fun.

Havent seen Crittets 3 though.

The Substance.

Very repetitive. A least 40 min longer than it should have. Also, the movie does not have a lot to say, but thinks its super clever.

It does look great, and there are some pretty cool scenes. Both Moore and Qualley are awesome. Quaid too.

Gonna try to convince the wife to watch this with me this weekend

This was solid. Nothing revolutionary, but everything it attempted it did well.

"The Vourdalak", c'est magnifique!

if you need a great new folk / gothic / vampire horror to more than tide you over until Nosferatu, this is the one

debut feature by Adrien Beau and very Eggers actually, albeit a little more effortlessly absurdist; can't wait to see what he does next

The most horrifying part of this thread is how much of it is dedicated to talking about new dreck

Indeed LV's Vintage Horror Thread might butt up against VG's All Things Horror... seventy-five pages might warrant two threads though.

Eh, I took it as a reflection that it is a catch-all thread and some things get lost. Searching in message boards is always rough too.

Funny that for all the crazy dumb threads we have on this board this genre seems to have the least overall, we throw discussion on new sequels or stand-alones in to old threads. Idunno, if the main horror thread gets boring we're pretty well fucked.

Forgot to post this before but I was able to catch the all-day Friday the 13th marathon at the Music Box in Chicago earlier this month. One of the best theater experiences I've had. I'm always gonna like the first 4 the most, but the later entries (especially Jason Lives) really shine on the big screen, especially after drinking since about noon.
