This thread got me thinking about Sirens which got me thinking about Dark Matter. I feel like Dark Matter seems, at times, like Andrew Watt leading Pearl Jam back to fix errors in the recent catalog. Case in point: Upper Hand is the Pink Floyd song that Sirens wanted to be.

If Mike hadn't mentioned Pink Floyd when talking about Sirens, there's no way I would have made that comparison.

Thank you. I try to have an open mind, but if someone likes/loves this song, I will no longer be able to trust them with anything. Taking out the trash

I mean in the end I can usually find something to latch onto in any pearl jam song in the moment since I love these musicians. But the very bottom of studio albums include:

God's Dice
Sleight of Hand
Soon Forget
Unemployable
Supersonic
Bushleaguer

I will never sit through these songs if they come up on shuffle. They are album listens only. But I'm hardly miserable while they're on. Eddie is singing. Mike, Stone, Jeff are playing. Somewhere in the DNA of whatever that song is I can find something that sparks.

I love stip.

Also I agree on not liking God's Dice.

I would love to see your list of songs that you think are fine that everyone else loves.

Hmmm,

Garden
Sometimes
Off He Goes
Faithfull
No Way
In Hiding
Light Years
Sleight of Hand
Of the Girl
Love Boat Captain
You Are
All or None
Getaway (which I know is not beloved, but many people list this as a comparative L-bolt highlight and it's close to the bottom of the record for me )

I know you're just doing album tracks, but, you know, any excuse to post about In The Moonlight.

Well in that case...!

In the Moonlight
Hitchhiker
Leatherman
U
Dead Man
Get It Back
Let It Ride

In the don't really like camp. I'd throw Fatal into the 'people love but it's fine' bucket.

You're listing a lot of my favourite songs, but I do agree with you on this one.

Interesting list Stip! I agree on Faithfull, No Way, You Are, and Getaway (I wouldn't even call that last one fine)

HARD disagree on All or None lol

Disagree on Sometimes, Off he Goes, Of the Girl....I used to not like Light Years but I finally listened with the lyrics and now I do <_<

I wouldn’t say I love it but I’m very fond of it (the original version, at least - I can’t remember what the Lost Dogs revision sounds like.)

It’s a fun little off-kilter pop song that I’d rather listen to than most of the band’s later work.

I even like it more than some earlier songs, like Breath.

There are songs I love but I don't necessarily listen to them all the time when they come on the car during shuffle mode.

Most of the time I'm not in the mood for "Release" when I'm driving to and from work. But it's a great song. Just need the right mood for this (and other songs)

but here's a list off the top of my head that I will skip no matter what:
stupid mop
sleight of hand
light years
insignificance
comeback
parachutes
future days

Light Years and Insignificance? Surely that’s a typo
