This Friday, new Floating Points, new Jesus Lizard, new Tony Levin.

I'm a very light user of this type of music but Birth4000 and Key103 are undeniable.

This album rules! Like, really amazing. My appetite for electronic/club music is pretty limited, but his explicit focus on the dance floor here has lost none of the compositional sensibilities of his more genre-agnostic work. Things ebb and flow in a way that feels wholly organic. Instantly jumps to the top of my electronic heap with stuff like Boards of Canada, Autechre, etc.

It's been a great year for new music so far.

I enjoyed that Fake Fruit.

I'm excited for FJM even though I wasn't a huge fan of Chloe.

The Fake Fruit record was a nice surprise - hadn't heard of them before this release.

I think I've heard half of the FJM record and I can tell it's going to be special. I missed the livestream listening party but I know that recordings are likely already floating around. That November release date seems a long way away...

New EP Doggerland from young NZ band Office Dog is lovely - first track Nancy is superb. They have some of the best chord changes around.

That first Bon Iver single carries some real For Emma nostalgia vibes.

The second single from Chat Pile's next record sounds huge. Fingers crossed the rest of the record sounds just as good.
