(no, theyre not)
Meanwhile, Israel are now flattening Lebanon
Giving up and giving in is definitely not the right way forward, because if and when you do, theyll keep coming. It's never enough and they wont stop until the very last one of you is wiped out and gone.

A stalemate is not giving up or giving Putin a win. It's recognizing that turning eastern Ukraine into a smoking crater is not a win either. Close to 200,000 people have died and probably another half-million more wounded just to move the lines back and forth a few miles. It's time to stop and negotiate an end to the killing.
And because the two nations most likely to use nuclear weapons are Israel and Russia. We must stop those wars before that happens.

I don't trust that the people in charge bothered running the numbers back in 2022 on whether we could supply enough equipment (and that Ukranians could supply enough bodies) to "win" anything better than giving up Donetsk and Luhansk. If it was all a matter of the West being willing to give enough material (without seriously degrading our obligations elsewhere) that would be one thing. Russia seems to be winning the production war, and we don't seem to be serious about competing.
What if China invaded Taiwan and occupied it, but then said, “We won’t use nukes as long as the west stays out of this”? Basically letting other superpowers know that it’s ok to take over shit, Let’s just not start a nuclear war
Russia and China. We continue to stand by and allow them to take over lands as long as it doesn’t escalate, how will that deter them? If we let them just have parts of Ukraine and you think they’ll stop there, then lol
Nah, it’s an argument i can’t win. Combination of old school way of thinking on my part along with me clearly not being smart enough or experienced enough in this area.
You have to remember, Putin wants Ukraine, but with no Ukranians in it. Its one of the most resource rich countries in the entire world and he doesnt want any opposition to strip mining and drilling every last inch of it. (the very same reason all the massive western oil and energy companies are buddying up with Zelensky)
thats really all this is all about. He wont nuke ukraine. he might nuke everything around it though, meaning eastern europe. and its a coin toss whether he will or wont. But i think hed 'take' a settlement on the land theyve invaded. for a few years until he reups his army and artillery and then he'll go again.
so stop him now and never give in to him? or roll over and placate him for a while..
result is the same. Ukranians get fucked over.
