Stinker, really? I think it's the best on the album and one of the best songs from the last 4 albums. I don't think it's even that familiar for them. I mean it's not out of their wheelhouse, but it's more like Dead Kennedys (PJ covered Bleed For Me) meets the Talking Heads (DOTC sounds a little like them too). Combining the two like we hear in React/Respond hadn't really happened for them till now. Again, it's in their wheelhouse, it's kinda familiar, but I don't think there is anything quite like this (other than the Bleed For Me cover.)
I could be wrong, but I feel this is in the Save You / Got Some / MFS vein and those are my least liked PJ songs. That style just seems off for this band at this point in their lives and careers. Not debating and given the crowds I am definitely in the minority. I just prefer the more pop structure and sound of Stevie/ Wont Tell / Setting Sun to this one.

Yeah, if you don't like those songs (I love Save You and Got Some) I could see why you wouldn't care for React/Respond. Oddly enough, Setting Sun is probably my second favorite on the album.

R/R feels to me like a bit of an update on Comatose and Severed Hand.

Out of Save You, Got Some, My Father's Son, Comatose, React Respond and Severed Hand, I would without question rank React Respond the highest.

I might be there as well, and I love all those others.

Feels like a weird/random grouping. But, yeah, R,R is easily the best of those.

this song and Running were definitely most improved by live performance. the vocal thing before the chorus is awesome.

This has become my favorite song on the album, and the main one I go back to, outpacing Wreckage and Upper Hand (the latter of which has fallen off a bit).

RR has a similar sound to MFS. Any other songs that fit with these two?

Get Right also has that low end heavy sound, and is in some ways a mid point between the two?

I sort of agree with you.

But there’s something about the way that the chorus is cringe that I really, really enjoy. Just like the ‘crazy train’-esque ending, I guess. hard to define

I was gonna come here and say that, because of ed's delivery, it feels like he's in on the cheese and delivers appropriately. Fantastic
