I can't stand smoking but I encounter it so rarely these days that every once in a while when I get a whiff, it takes me right back to childhood summers in rural Wisconsin in a warm rush of unexpected nostalgia.

Smoking is totally back in NYC. Errybody's smoking again. It's a rebellion against alcohol. Like all these "sober" people being like, "naw, I'm totally sober... I smoke cigarettes all day and weed all night, and I love mushrooms, but only on weekends, and LSD on special occasions, and xanax for anxiety, but just like every other day, man, being sober rules! I can't believe everyone isn't sober at this point, like how dare you have a drink like a fiend, being sober and smoking weed is the way live! Also, I couldn't live without cigarettes!"
