LOL the mutiny that would occur...

I listened to it. Is it me or are the vocals turned up in the mix on this version?

I think they could have gone another 10-15 secs into the solo before the fade. Fading in the first "you can be looooooooved" would be a more acceptable spot.

Begs the question why no radio edit fade on Wreckage?

Can we get it double a-side single with Won't Tell?
They chopped up Wreckage for the radio version. They cut out the 3rd verse and did make the ending shorter. They probably knocked off about 1.5 minutes on the song.

I haven't listened to this yet, and I have no intention of doing so! -- the radio edit, I mean.

Honestly the outro is not my favorite part of WFS, but this is still outrageous.

Fucking Alive didn't get a radio edit.
Black didn't get a radio edit
Jeremy did, though

Who determines if and how a song should be edited for radio?

It's probably a mistake. Like earlier this year when the Decemberists fixed the mix of their new album on streaming and accidentally replaced one song with an instrumental only version for a while.

Well fuck... We got our first "drop 1/2" on this one tonight per the setlist I just read. I can't remember a single drop 1/2 I ever liked... Please PJ just retire shit Ed can't sing. When you're 60+,you earn the right to "quiet quit" certain songs. Don't do this to a Top 10 (to some) you just put out!

They've been drop tuning new stuff since S/T.

First time a DM song has been tuned down, I believe.

Tuning down new songs began in earnest with Backspacer. None of the S/T songs were tuned down in 2006 but it crept in during 2007 and 2008.

They really don’t have many album cuts that were recorded tuned down, do they? Off the top of my head only Of the Girl comes to mind. Drifting… or am I misremembering?

They should tune down more in studio.
