This looks interesting but why the hell has MFS been put on your mellow disc? I suggest swapping that with Infallible from disc 1.

I tried really hard to make JG fit the flow of this but it didn't seem to work anywhere. It would've only possibly worked in the spot I've got MFS and I wouldn't have wanted to lose that one either. I'd like to imagine it would've been the "why didn't this make the album?!" b-side.

I don't hate Let the Records Play (and it fit the flow of the tracklisting too). I don't love it or anything but I'd sure as hell prefer to hear it live than Sirens, Just Breathe, Future Days et al.

This isn't a collection of my favourite songs from these sessions by any means, I was trying to make it as musically cohesive as possible. I think Force of Nature blows goats and Yellow Moon is a total snoozefest.

I haven't done this yet, but I did listen to UK then LB (the song), and LB kicked the shit out of UK. I thought they would be pretty close, with maybe a slight edge to LB, but it wasn't even close.

That's not totally fair. Thematically they're pretty similar, and they are each songs full of musical choices that are usually outside pearl jam's wheelhouse.

That's not what I was going for, no. I just mean that "ballad" doesn't mean one thing. Let's not fall into the trap of comparing every song with every other song that can vaguely be called a ballad, and especially not just because we don't like them. Two songs aren't musically comparable just because we don't like them.
