But the tuning of the instruments themselves can be tuned down from A440.

Stone’s guitar is tuned down a 1/2 step on OTG.wease wrote:OTG wasn’t tuned down in the studioMatters wrote:They really don’t have many album cuts that were recorded tuned down, do they? Off the top of my head only Of the Girl comes to mind. Drifting… or am I misremembering?

Re: Waiting For Stevie
The half step down tune on Waiting For Stevie is surprising to me, but from what I heard in a live video, didn't seem to detract (and I'm not sure I would have noticed live).

Re: Waiting For Stevie
The radio edit for Waiting For Stevie is ridiculous. With the radio playing the full version of Alive all of these years why butcher Waiting For Stevie by cutting out that awesome guitar solo? I understand radio edits are made but in all honesty they could have just cut the interlude at the end. It would still bring the track length down to Evenflow track length territory (in which the radio always plays the full version of that song as well.). I never want to listen to this radio edit again.

If I was actively trying to sabotage the song, this is the edit I would have made.

Re: Waiting For Stevie
Yes. It's not just the solo. It's all that energy of the "You can be love / You can be loved" section. That's the payoff in the song. Without that, it's quite a bit more basic of a tune.McParadigm wrote:If I was actively trying to sabotage the song, this is the edit I would have made.

Re: Waiting For Stevie
WHAT IN THE WORLD? WHAT? WHAT WHAT?
WHY???
WHY DOES THIS SONG FADE OUT THERE????
Imagine if Alive cut out before the ending solo??
This is insane!!! It even has backup vocals on the ending that they just skipped? That's a really important point of the song!!!
I am so baffled right now. Who approved this, was there no better way to cut it?
You could have cut the second verse pretty easily?? from 1:40-2:00 Then maybe cut SOME of the ending solo but not THAT much. Even those extra 20 seconds to add to the end, would have made a BIG difference.

Re: Waiting For Stevie
I honestly think this decision could sabotage the song completely, because it's the ending that brings it up to special territory, and evokes a song like Alive that made them famous. Without that, the song is.....I mean its still fine but they've undercut the part that makes everybody feel "wow that sounds like Pearl Jam"Gigalogy84 wrote:The radio edit for Waiting For Stevie is ridiculous. With a better title and a few different lyrics, I think this one would be a bigger hit here on RM.
