I always want to like Dressed to Kill more than I actually do. I'd say that, Body Double, and The Phantom of the Paradise are the most overrated De Palma movies.
Carrie is great, though.

Tried Deadpool and Wolverine. I can't do it. This humor ain't for me. Gonna give Furry Road a rewatch to cleanse the pallet.

Re: What movies are you watching?
It's a really good dystopian action movie, of course, worthy of all that praise. But the look of it kind of bothers me at times, particularly the night scenes. It's obvious they are filmed during the day and recolored. Not a fan of that.

It works excellently as a spectacle, but the characters weren’t all that interesting. Max himself felt like a supporting actor

Re: What movies are you watching?
The first Mad Max might be a bit hard to get into since it's not as crazy as the others and done on a nothing budget.
But Road Warrior is just the best.

I recently did a full Mad Max series run-through and IMO The Road Warrior and Furiosa are the only good ones. The other three are horrendous.

Steve Albini wrote:Whenever there's active promotion on the part of somebody else, whenever I see somebody all dolled up for a fancy photograph and someone's handing out flyers or whenever there's active promotion for something like that, as an imposition on my day, I hate all those people and I want them to fail. I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.
