Coming off Skippy Dies, which is 660 pages, I was a bit hesitant to pick up something long (not a penis) again. But I don't think I'll have problems with it. Skippy Dies actually read pretty quickly, I just went a few weeks here and there barely picking it up.

I really enjoyed it overall. At times I felt like the transitions plot line to plot line were off or felt uneven, and didn't love how some of the characters were handled. I've always had an affinity for works set in schools so that was an instant draw. The third section had some devastating stuff. I'm not a movie/book/tv crier generally but felt close to tearing up.

Whenever there's active promotion on the part of somebody else, whenever I see somebody all dolled up for a fancy photograph and someone's handing out flyers or whenever there's active promotion for something like that, as an imposition on my day, I hate all those people and I want them to fail. I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.
