The Toadies

Post by Dev »

ive been meaning to tell you guys that the original version of feeler is like the best thing they ever did. pretty sad the label sent it back. it pretty much killed the band and heaven below is not half as good.

I never listened to Feeler. Hell Below is pretty great, though.

the version of feeler that was officially released was rerecorded and is missing many of the best songs.

also the original versions of "everything we have we steal" + "dollskin" are superior to the versions on "heaven below"

Hell Below Stars Above is fantastic from start to finish. I will have to give the old Feeler a listen again, but it would be hard pressed to leap HBSA for me. Saw the Toadies again last year on the Rubberneck 20th. Still awesome. They're part of some shit package tour this year, and I'd love to see them for a 4th time, but I am not interested in who they're touring with.

I just listened to (most) of Rubberneck for the first time. Really liked it. Should I keep going with Toadies?

I remember thinking one of the songs on Rubberneck would be cool for a wrestler's entrance theme. God bless 1997.

I recommend albums “Hell Below, Stars Above,” “Heretics” and the outstanding soundtrack song “Paper Dress.”

I also recommend Burden Brothers’ first album “Buried in Your Black Heart.” Same singer.

Yeah. I liked the title track (Shine) on their other album, but that was it.

'Rubberneck' is maybe the most underrated album of the nineties. its probably as good as 'nevermind'

This might be a good thread on an active board.

I wouldn’t swing at you for that statement. I’d add Local H’s Pack up the Cats and Paw’s Dragline to the conversation.
