Yeah, my copy wasn't messed up do to the packaging... I'm pretty sure it was this piss-poor pressing.

In fact, my packaging was in pristine condition (as opposed to reports I've heard from others). Don't see how anything remotely related to the packaging would cause so many of us to have the exact same skip in Getaway though.

I sold most of my records and don't even own a record player anymore, I've been pretty steadfast about staying with FLAC moving forwards, but sometimes something comes along that gives me a major vinyl boner:

It's just a really wonderful artifact, you know? I want to run my fingers along its sensual edges.

Dude I'm pretty sure such pickups are featured in that Hipster Olympics video from way back. "I've got a guitar in my room. Not to play it... just to have it... be there."

Posted this in the Nirvana thread, but thought I'd mention it here because I for one didn't jump on the In Utero reissue:

So is that mix included in the box set, and this is just for people who don't want to buy the whole thing?

SSD has a MOV reissue of Temple of the Dog, but I dunno if I want to spend $45 on it...

Why do you need a temp one? Just wait until you can get a good one.

Turntable Lab sells this all in one kits, looks great for just starting out or having a temp setup.

i have some box speakers from a decent stereo i had quite a ways back, but thats about it, not sure if they would be compatible, we will probably be looking for something similar to what SNC posted as apposed to something to add to a stereo system.

I didn't jump on a vinyl copy of the In Utero reissue either, because I heard so many negative things about the Vinyl re-issue of Nevermind. A few years ago ORG put out a reissue of In Utero that is AMAZING, and I highly suggest to anyone that wants In Utero on Vinyl.

I was a fan of the 2013 mix, so I'm tempted to pick this up... I just don't know if I want to deal with the Record Store Day crowds...

the lightning bolt lp from 10c showed up today. the gatefold has a dent on a bottom corner, a 2" tear on the bottom vinyl-side pocket, and two tears on either side of the inside seam. the vinyl sleeve has 3" tears on two of the three sides. high quality special packaging indeed.

will play the vinyl when i get home tonight. it looks bad (scuffs, debris, but no obvious scratches), so i'm not expecting a clean listening experience.

Mine was pretty dusty with some debris, but after some good brushing it played fine. No scuffs on mine, though.

A little low on Side A.
