My official NYRR race time was 2:00:38. But my Garmin said I hit 13.1 before even getting to the mile 13 marker, which is typical in a race like this that's so wide and twisty.

My watch time was 1:59:20.

Either way, I was right at about 2 hours, which is always my goal. I'm pretty sure this was my slowest half ever but I kinda expected that given the wonky training and minor injuries/soreness.

Had a ton of fun (all that really matters), great weather, and really pushed hard the last two miles.

Now I feel like a truck hit me. I'm still in bed!

Worth it.
Great job! I may do a half in December. It will be at least an hour slower
Hey man, the running is what matters!
Ok but what about the 5.5 miles of walking it will probably entail
Ain't nothing wrong with walking, my guy
Thanks bruh. We didn’t realize there were two separate ones. The first of which has a 3 hour time limit and the second 4 hours. We’re doing the latter but I’d love to get it in 2:45ish

28:47. The last mile was a struggle, and a decent portion at the end was downhill. My legs felt good at least.

Meh, but thanks. I just wish I could figure out how to breathe and not want to die.

Do you have a technique you're using right now?

Trying to make sure I breathe from my stomach, in through nose and out through pursed lips. Problem is I lose the ability to focus on that and form once it gets labored. At least on fast runs

Interesting. I think I've always breathed through my mouth when I run (in and out). I'll have to pay attention next time.

That’s definitely what I default to if I don’t purposely focus on it. I’m probably doing a little bit of both actually. My heart spiking so easily has to affect it too right?

Do you ever focus on which foot you're stepping down on during exhales and/or inhales? Like do you purposely exhale on a right step or whatever?

I’d probably fall down if I tried that. But I’ll experiment with it. I’m starting in the middle of a half marathon training plan and my first is a 15 min recovery run so will be a good chance to try
