One final deep bass drop heard round the world. Thankful he left so much music for us.

I actually had plans to see an Austin based tribute band tonight, but circumstances are taking me on the road for the weekend. That's going to be a hell of a show now.

Yeah, I got to see him just maybe a year and a half ago, and it was a great show. The man was pure genius without ever banging you over the head with it. He was a huge part of the magic, with his instrument every bit as expressive and mind boggling as Jerry. Glad he gave the world so much music for so long.

I never got to see Bobby and kept meaning to. I always sort of blew off the cost thinking he was the young member of the Dead and never really thought about those opportunities not being there. Granted, I ran to see Phil a couple of years before he passed. The long strange trip may go on forever with all the bands who play and interpret their music, but sad to know the chances of seeing the founding members, especially now Jerry, Phil, and Bobby, is not going to happen. They sure left an enduring legacy and inspired so many.

His 2016 solo album, Only a River, is a fantastic listen right now.

Or for a real tearjerker, hear him perform Brokedown Palace and Ripple on that Wolf Brothers live album.

Few artists aged as gracefully as Bob Weir.
