I admit I was reaching a bit to include a song from HTDAAB but I've always been a sucker for the lyrical subject of Miracle Drug and the emotion of the story behind it:

It was written about the late Irish writer Christopher Nolan, with whom the band attended Mount Temple Comprehensive School. Bono said of Nolan:[1]
“ We all went to the same school and just as we were leaving, a fellow called Christopher Nolan arrived. He had been deprived of oxygen for two hours when he was born, so he was paraplegic. But his mother believed he could understand what was going on and used to teach him at home. Eventually, they discovered a drug that allowed him to move one muscle in his neck. So they attached this unicorn device to his forehead and he learned to type. And out of him came all these poems that he'd been storing up in his head. Then he put out a collection called Dam-Burst of Dreams,[2] which won a load of awards and he went off to university and became a genius. All because of a mother's love and a medical breakthrough.

I was also at their last show in Dublin in 2005 when Nolan was in attendance and Bono talked about his story, so that probably left a mark on me.

I take exception to the idea that CCR was just a hits band. They only released like 66 songs and I'd say at least 28 are essential. 42%!

CCR deep cuts are where it's at. Chronicle Vol 2 is arguably better than Chronicle Vol 1.

Yeah, CCR is more than hits.

Even after that Doors catalogue run a few years ago, I sadly only really care for their hits for the most part with a few other songs sprinkled in.
