Is it just me or does Aaron Judge sometimes come across as the kind of guy who would Tonya Harding someone if he thought nobody was looking? I could be completely wrong about that, but his generally flat affect sends a vibe through the TV screen that is just weird.

Judge’s career is so wonky, man, I don’t know what to make of him half the time. His talent can’t be denied but the fact that he started so late (ROY at age 25) and has missed so much time between injuries and the 2020 season, it feels like he hasn’t been around that long but will be 33 next April. He’s a big dude so his body could break down pretty fast, so if you squint I could see him not even breaking 500 career HR (unless he plays until he’s like 43). I think it’s kind of telling that the similar-by-age chart for him on BR is not littered with HOFers: Brian Giles, McGwire (the exception, or should be), Ryan Howard, David Justice. He’ll need a spectacular late-30s career to rise above that crop—not impossible, but it’ll be interesting to watch.

Volpe is one of only two Yankees that I like so I was happy for him to have that moment. Maybe the Dodgers can put them out of their misery tonight, though.

And what about that guy trying to literally take the glove off of Mookie Betts' hand? And then act like it was Mookie interfering with their attempt to catch a foul ball? That was just a bizarre sequence from start to finish. I kind of wish the broadcast had aired them being shown the door. Imagine paying $1,000 to see 4 outs.
