It was a rare instance where you were right.
The vast major of folks don’t complain about “woke” when there are diverse/progressive themes in a compelling story. They complain when the diversity/progressive theme itself is what is suppose to make the story compelling. So a story that drives you to create your own understanding of the characters and the events vs one that tells you what to think about the characters and events.

just remember Bi and burt etc cant even define what the fuckin word means, in any sense. It just means things they dont like. So if its black people or women or trans people getting some representation in entertainment, fuck that its woke!
I can define it actually, and have here before, at least broadly. Not that it will ever stop braindead woke leftists from saying it's a made up word that means nothing (which they still somehow defend endlessly).

Ask 10 people what communism or capitalism is specifically, and you'll likely get 10 different answers, though broadly speaking I'd say that wokeness refers to a* ideology (complete with praxis and pedagogy), consisting of things like group identity, equity, compensatory discrimination, oppressor/victim dichotomy, "progressive stack", and several other concepts, largely based on the works of grifters like ibram x kendi, Robin DiAngelo and others. And IMO it has a mountain of contradictions and other problems, but largely serves the interests of those in power, which is why its been so ascendant recently.
Ladies and gentlemen and xers, I was merely trying to inform you of certain rumors surrounding the inner workings of the Disney corporation. If you have problems with it, please take it up with Bob Iger!
Wasnt it a word that came from street vernacular in the black community, in the first place?
now been culturally appropriated and abused beyond all meaning by people that really dont like black people, or anyone. And without a hint of self awareness.
Don't worry! After this year, I think we'll start to hear about it a lot less. We're may have reached the nadir of Western culture! The tide is turning on this dreck.

Like I said earlier I have no doubt that the backlash against (but more significantly, the financial failure of) several Disney properties will cause them to rethink their approach. Once you hurt their bottom line they're gonna course correct, because generating profit is their endgame. But we're only really gonna see the results of it in 2026, because the stuff that's already coming out in 2025 has been in production for a while. Really curious how Captain America 4 will do.

I feel like that one won't be very woke considering they've basically filmed it twice. I've heard it's still pretty bad though.
But I did forget about that Ironheart show. I think that's still coming out.
I'm really thinking more about the western video game industry, which bet hugely on "the message" this year, and it's been such a disaster that the entire industry may take years to recover (though there are other big factors at work there as well).
