I get the frustration, and that definitely makes sense. I just find it frustrating when we know so little about the nature of an injury and then people start calling the player out. It's the same thing when a pitcher misses a start because of a blister and people scream about how he needs to toughen up and pitch through it, as if that's even possible. If fans want pitchers to pitch with a blister (or a bad shoulder, elbow, whatever) they might as well be pitching with one leg.

But yeah, when it consistently happens with one player, I understand the frustration.

if he hadn't missed 3 1/2 months for basically nothing, and if he hadn't had extra rest before each of his postseason starts, and if he had actually made 30 starts in a season at some point, I might be willing to cut Buchholz a break...dude is fragile, be it physically, mentally, or both. He should be the guy they trade after the season...

If he goes out and tries to pitch through it and sucks, then he's hurting the team and any injury talk is just making excuses. If he sits out and lets it heal, then he's a pussy for not playing through it.

is anyone here overlooking the fact that the Sox team doctors have an incredibly bad track record? i think somebody is...

also, Vaseline will make blay cuchholz be the player he was pre-injury.

James Andrews has about as spotless a record as you can have, and he said Buchholz was fine

So apparently in the off season David Ortiz spends most of his time with his family in the quiet town of Kaukauna, Wisconsin. I guess early on he'd go to low key bars around town and nobody knew who the big black guy was. Shit, that town is like 45 mins from my parents house. Come December I'm gonna go look for the Big Papi.

The Cardinals embarrassed themselves in Game 1. They haven't played that bad all year and I don't know if it was Fenway, the 4 day layoff, the jitters or what. It was just awful to watch as a fan. Tonight was a lot better.

That was kind of my point in the initial post about it. I get that everyone does it, and for the most part it's not a big deal, but how have Lester and Buchholz (and the Miami guy who spit on the ball, only that one was hilarious) managed to be so obvious about it?
